RRB NTPC 2020 Eligibility Criteria, Pattern, Syllabus : Everything You Need to Know

Railway Recruitment Board conducts Railway NTPC and other railway examinations every year which gives an opportunity to the candidates to work in the prestigious Government Sector (Indian Railways) in India. The RRB NTPC 2020 exam dates are released by Railway Recruitment Board officially for approximately 35208 vacancies.

RRB NTPC 2019-20 Recruitment is especially for the candidates who are having a Graduate Degree from any recognised university.

Railway Recruitment Board (RRBs) has released the RRB NTPC Exam Date on September 5, 2020. RRB NTPC 2020 exam dates have been announced by the Chairman of the Railway Board. The CBT exam will commence from December 15, 2020, onwards.

Various Posts for Railway NTPC Exam
The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) conducts the RRB Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) Exam to fill various auxiliary posts in the Indian Railways. The recruitment is done for the following posts: 
  • Junior Clerk cum Typist
  • Accounts Clerk cum Typist
  • Junior Time Keeper
  • Trains Clerk
  • Commercial cum Ticket Clerk
  • Traffic Assistant
  • Goods Guard
  • Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk

Exam Date
The exam date for the 2019 examination was scheduled in June but due to the coronavirus pandemic, it has been postponed and scheduled from December 15th 2020 tentatively. The Railway Board will announce the final dates of RRB NTPC Exam 2020 on the official websites of RRBs.

Eligibility Criteria
The aspirants who are looking to attempt this examination must refer to the eligibility criteria and see whether they are eligible for the examination or not.
The eligibility criteria are as follows :
  1. Nationality / Citizenship: Candidates must be nationals of India, Nepal, Bhutan.
  2. Age: Candidates must be between the age group of 18 years to 30 years.
  3. Education: Candidates who wish to appear must have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university and equivalent. There are certain posts, which require a degree of at least 12th Std.
  4. Physical Fitness:  There are certain medical standards prescribed by the RRB that the candidates must pass.
Exam Pattern
Exam Pattern of the RRB NTPC are categorised into the following stages:
  1. CBT Stage – 1
  2. CBT Stage – 2
  3. Skill / Aptitude Test
  4. Document Verification
  5. Medical Examination
Candidates who have applied for the post of Junior Accountant Assistant, Senior Clerk cum Typist and Senior Time Keeper, are required to give the ‘skill test’ while the aptitude test is for those who have applied for the post of Traffic Assistant and Assistant Station Master.

Syllabus
The sections for both the stages of the RRB NTPC CBT Exam are the same. They are as follows:
  1. Mathematics
  2. General Awareness
  3. General Intelligence and Logical Reasoning
The difference in both the CBT stages is of the number of questions asked in each stage. In CBT Stage – 1 there are 100 questions while in CBT Stage – 2 it is 120 questions. Both stages have a duration of 90 minutes each.

There is no major update available as of now, the only information available is that the Railways Board would carry forward the RRB NTPC Exam 2019 to this year i.e. in December 2020. Hence, RRB NTPC Admit Card 2019 is expected to be released soon.
Candidates can download the RRB NTPC Admit Card available on the official website at least 10 days before the scheduled exam. Candidates are advised to visit the RRB NTPC Official Website regularly to download their admit cards.
