The UP-SI exam's Quantitative Skill section covers a variety of subjects. To improve your planning, you should understand the types and levels of topics covered in this section. As a result, we've put together a topic-by-topic planning strategy:
- The greatest common factor and the smallest common multiple are
Word problems and direct data-based questions are included in this segment. Every day, practice 1-2 questions based on the HCF and LCM.

The proportion section contains mean proportional, third, and fourth proportional queries, while the ratio section contains direct data and word problems in which numbers/quantities are divided in a ratio. Every day, practice 2-3 problems from this portion.
This section contains basic percentage-based questions that take less time to complete. Every day, practice 1-2 questions from this segment.
In this section, students are asked questions about rational/irrational numbers, remainder definition, co-prime numbers, variables, digits, divisibility, and other number-related word problems. So, to improve your problem-solving speed, practice a lot of problems.
This section contains problems based on the BODMAS law, fractions, surds, and indices that require faster calculation speeds. So, every day, practice 2-3 problems from this portion.
Conversions from decimal to fraction and vice versa, as well as basic operations on decimals and fractions, are covered in this section.
Questions about the average of numbers, price, marks, salary, weight, and so on, as well as questions based on run rates, were asked. As a result, practice 2-3 problems every day.
This section is well-balanced, with simple problems based on normal time and function, efficiency questions, and pipes and cisterns with time provided in length or clock-based time. As a result, you can practice a lot of questions based on this.
Distance and time
This segment contains questions about trains, vessels, and streams, as well as questions about normal speed. Since this segment is simple and has a high weighting, you can practice 3-4 questions per day.
- Tables and graphs are used
Data is described in this section as a table, line graph, bar graph, pie chart, and individual questions are focused on percentages, ratios, averages, and other topics. So, every day, practice one graph or map.
In this part, you will be asked to solve direct problems based on 2D and 3D measurements. This segment has a lower weight, so practice at least one issue every day.
- Calculations in arithmetic and other analytical functions
This section contains permutation/combination and probability problems. The problems are simple and take little time to solve. So, each day, practice one problem of each kind.
This segment contains questions about mixtures. This section contains simple problems such as combining two mixtures, adding/removing a quantity, and so on. Every day, practice 2-3 questions from this segment.
