1)Keyword research

  • Most of your keyword targeting and on-page SEO will be done in your blog entries.
  • To find keywords with a good volume and little competition, use keyword research tools.
  • Per page, focus on one keyword or keyword theme. For instance, this article focuses on the keywords "on-page SEO" together with "page seo checklist" and "what is on-page SEO" since if I published separate articles on each term, they would compete with one another in the SERP.
  • Search for your keywords You won't be ranked if you adhere to the guidelines below but your page's content does not reflect the intent of the term you are aiming for.

2)Content Quality

  • Trustworthy Information is truthful and fulfils the promise made in the headline.
  • Useful Provides the data a user is looking for when they search for that keyword.

3)Keyword Placement

  • Page title-This is the page's actual title as it appears on the page.
  • Title Tag-This is the page's title as it appears on the SERP or title tag.
  • Page's first 100 words- Ensure that this is integrated in a natural way.
  • Headings-There should be two H2 headings on each page.
  • Meta Description-This is a summary of your page that shows on search engine results pages.
  • Image alt text-The textual representation of a picture, or alt text.

4)Images-

  • Optimize for speed-Optimize your website for speed by resizing your images to fit within the page's maximum width (your site will do this automatically, but it still necessitates server requests), and compressing them to reduce file size without compromising quality (I use tinypng.com because it's quick, free, and has a cute panda on it).
  • Add alternative text-This is the image's text equivalent. This is how you inform Google (and screen readers can tell the visually challenged) what your image is about, and it should contain the term you're targeting.

5)Title-

  • Any given website page has one of two titles
  • The title of the page that displays in search results is referred to by the title tag, which is also known as the meta title or SEO title. The target term should appear in the title tag, which should be 60 characters or fewer. To avoid having the term chopped off on smaller devices, be careful to front-load the phrase in the headline.
  • H1 Tags As soon as a reader lands on a page, they will see the page's title in the H1 element. It should still contain the keyword, but you have greater freedom to be imaginative and provide value here.

6)Heading

  • You should only have one H1 on each page, which is the page's title.
  • Your content's major portions are identified by the H2> tag. Depending on the amount of material, a well-optimized page may have two to 22 H2s (wow, that's a lot of twos), but you should always have at least two H2s that contain the keywords you're aiming for, which should be simple to do with one section of your article and the conclusion.
  • These H3> tags are employed to further identify the many points made in each H2 section. Don't force it and don't worry about having keywords here; use these as necessary.
  • If you're splitting up your material that much, it probably won't be very readable and these titles don't actually have much SEO benefit. I do occasionally employ H4s, but it only happens very seldom.

7)Meta description
You should limit it to 155–160 characters.

8)URL

  • Include the targeted keyword.
  • Instead of spaces, use dashes.
  • Keep it succinct. Most of the time, the keyword alone is sufficient.

9)Links

  • External Links-

These are the web links on your page that lead visitors to other websites. A smart strategy for on-page SEO is to link to relevant pages from domain-authority-high websites. In doing so, you increase Google's trust in your page.

  • Internal Links-

The links on your page that direct readers to other pages on your website are those. Other pages on your website should link to the one you're optimizing, in addition to any internal links within the page.

10)Technical

Mobile friendliness: While the majority of your site should be responsively designed to fit any screen size, occasionally, some components may not be. Make sure everything is displaying correctly on mobile if you've added a table or a video to your page. Crawlability If your page is not indexed, it cannot rank. And if it isn't crawlable, it can't be indexed. Your website has been indexed if it appears on the SERP. But occasionally, blog posts or pages are unintentionally removed from search engines for various reasons. Check the back end of the page in your CMS to verify sure indexing isn't disabled if a page experiences surprisingly low traffic. You can utilize Search Console to troubleshoot if it isn't.

11)Content Freshness

  • Make changes or include new data.
  • Include links to fresh content and update any broken ones.
  • Replace outdated visuals, particularly graphs, and screenshots of platforms.
  • Verify that the keyword's intent has not altered.

All actions that can be made within the website itself to raise it in the search engine results are referred to as "on-page optimization." Examples of this include actions to improve the meta description and title tags or content optimization.
