A sub-inspector (SI) is usually in command of a small number of police (there are senior constables equivalent to corporals who command police outposts).
This is the lowest level official and usually the first investigator who can be prosecuted in court under the Indian police rules and regulations.

- Age limit- This age limit varies by state. Most candidates should be 18 to 28, with some category-based age restrictions as well.
- Physical requirements- To be an SI, you must be 5 feet 6 inches tall. The measurement should be 80 to 84 feet. These requirements are different for women.
- Other qualifications- to become an SI Must pass a physical ability test. The physical ability test requires her to complete a 16-meter run and her 20 push-ups in 6:30 minutes. However, it may vary depending on the content of the training. After that, qualified candidates must take a written test. After the written test, an interview will be held. The document is then verified. After successfully completing all of these, you will be invited to the State Police Academy for training.
