Chhattisgarh recruitment ‘scam’: CBI claims CGPSC ex-chief shared question papers with nephews

The CBI has claimed that Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission ex-chairman Taman Singh Sonwani tweaked guidelines and shared the CGPSC-2021 exam question papers with his two nephews in advance, facilitating their selection to the state services.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on January 16 filed its first chargesheet in the alleged CGPSC scam, which came to light during the previous Congress regime, before a special court in Raipur, naming Sonwani and six others.

The other accused persons are Sonwani’s nephews Nitesh Sonwani and Sahil Sonwani, then CGPSC deputy controller examination Lalit Ganvir, director of Shri Bajrang Power and Ispat Ltd Shravan Kumar Goyal, his son Shashank Goyal and daughter-in-law Bhumika Katiyar.

Meanwhile, the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) on Sunday said Dhananjay Shukla has been elected as its President and Pawan G Chandak as the Vice President.

Shukla has expertise in the areas of corporate law, securities law and taxation, according to a release.

ICSI has more than 75,000 members and about 2 lakh students.

Meanwhile, The ICSI has released the Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test (CSEET) 2025 January session result today, January 20. The candidates who appeared for the exam can download the CSEET 2025 January result by visiting the official website i.e.
icsi.edu. 

The candidates may note that they will require their login credentials such as unique ID number and date of birth to access the CSEET 2025 results. The CSEET 2025 January pass percentage will be announced soon. The ICSI CSEET January 2025 exam was conducted on 11 and 13 January 2025. 

Candidates must score at least 40 percent marks in each paper (papers 1, 2, 3, 4) separately, as the case may be, and 50 percent marks in aggregate of all papers put together to pass the CSEET. Those who passed the CSEET exam can register for the executive program. The CSEET result 2025 will remain valid for one year from the declaration date.

Firstly, candidates need to visit the official website i.e. icsi.edu. 
Then click on the result link available on the home page. 
Enter your login credentials and click on submit. 
The result will be displayed on the screen of the candidate. 
After viewing, download the same. 
The candidates can take a printout for future reference.
