CTET 2021: Notification, Application Form, Syllabus, Pattern & Exam Date
Central Teachers Eligibility Test or CTET for the year 2021 will be conducted in the month of December. As per the latest CBSE guidelines, the registration process for the exam is expected to begin in the month of August. This is as per the guidelines in order to fulfill the aims and aspirations of the National Education Policy 2020, CTET will be conducted in online mode with few minor changes in the exam pattern. A detailed notification containing eligibility, exam pattern syllabus, and changes will be available soon on the official website of CBSE.
About CTET-
As per the provisions of the Right To Education Act 2009, there was to be the minimum qualification for teachers across the country. The National Council for Teachers Education via a notification dated 2009, initiated the process of Central Teachers Eligibility. Since 2010 the exam is conducted twice a year by Central Education Board for Secondary Education. The ultimate purpose of the CTET exam is:
- To bring national standards and benchmark of teacher quality.
- To induce teacher education institutions and students from these institutions to further improve their performance standards.
- Send a positive signal to all stakeholders and lay emphasis on teachers' training.
Through the CTET certificate, candidates become eligible to take up teaching roles in Classes 1 to 8. The exams ensure a set benchmark, fair analysis of competency and knowledge for prospective hiring institutions. The exam is conducted into two sessions – Paper 1 and Paper 2.The details are as follows:

Every year, over 20 lakh aspirants appear for the CTET exam. In January 2021, a total of 23,51,725 candidates appeared for the exam, of which, 6,54,299 candidates qualified.

About CTET
CTET, or Central Teacher Eligibility Test, is a national-level exam conducted in India by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). It is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for appointment as teachers. CTET takes place twice a year and is for teachers who want to teach from classes 1-8.
The two types of CTET exams include Paper 1, and Paper 2. Paper 1 is given by the candidates who’re planning to teach from classes 1-5. Candidates who’re planning to teach from classes 5-8 appear for paper 2.
CTET 2022 exam is expected to be held in July 2022 in the computer-based test (CBT) mode.

CTET Result 2022
The CTET result 2022 will be released online after the completion of the assessment process. The result is released in the form of scorecard containing the marks obtained by candidates in the exam. Candidates can check CTET results by following the given steps:

- Enter the roll number
- Download the CTET scorecard
- Take a printout for future use

CTET Exam Process 2022
The CTET selection process includes the following steps:
CTET Application
- Fill CTET application form
- Fill the application form on the official website. Pay the fee online in time. The fee is Rs 1,000 for General and OBC categories and Rs 500 for Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Differently Abled Person.
Download CTET admit card
Candidates can download CTET 2021 admit card from the official website of CBSE. The admit card is available in soft copy. Candidates are needed to take a printout of the admit card and carry it with them to the exam center.
CTET exam
The exam is conducted in two and a half hours duration.

CTET Exam Pattern
- There will be 150 MCQs in each paper.
- For Paper-I, the difficulty level will be of the secondary stage.
- Paper-II, the difficulty level will be of senior secondary stage.
- CTET Paper-1 is divided into 5 sections: Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I & II, Mathematics, and Environmental Science.
- TET Paper-2 is divided into 4 sections: Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I & II, Mathematics/Science or Social Studies. There will be a choice between Maths/Science and Social Studies.
- Each Correct answer will be awarded 1 mark. There is no negative marking in the exam.

CTET - Exam Pattern
CTET Exam Pattern 2022
Both Paper I & II of CTET contain a total of 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) each. 1 mark is awarded to correct answers and there is no negative marking for incorrect answers. The paper is conducted in offline mode as a pen-and-paper-based test. Paper 1 consists of 5 sections while Paper 2 consists of 4 sections.
Paper-I will be conducted for candidates who wish to be teachers for Classes I to IV.
Paper-II will be conducted for candidates who wish to be teachers for Classes VI to VIII.

CTET Paper-I exam is divided into 4 sections. Candidates have to choose between Mathematics & Science and Social Studies in Paper 2. Total number of questions and marks distributions for Paper-2 is given below:

There is no penalty for wrong answers in CTET 2022 Exam.
CTET - Eligibility (Paper-1)
Educational Qualification for Classes 1-5
- A candidate who has completed their Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam with minimum of 50% marks and cleared or appearing in final year exam of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration) OR
- A candidate who has completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam securing a minimum of 45% marks and has cleared or appearing in final year exam of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration), according to the NCTE Regulations 2002. OR
- A candidate who has completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent test with minimum of 50% marks and has cleared or appeared in the final year exam of Bachelor of Elementary Education (4 years duration). OR
- A candidate who has completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent test with the minimum of 50% marks and has cleared or appearing in the final year exam of Diploma in Education (2 years duration). OR
- A candidate who has a Bachelor’s degree and has cleared or appearing in the final year exam of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration).
CTET - Eligibility (Paper-2)
Educational Qualification for Classes 6-8
- A candidate who holds a Graduation degree and has passed or is appearing in the final year examination of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration). OR
- A candidate who has completed his/her Graduation degree with 50% marks and has cleared or appearing in the final year exam of Bachelor in Education. OR
- A candidate who has completed his/her Graduation degree with 40% marks and has cleared or appearing in the final year exam of Bachelor in Education, according to NCTE regulations. OR
- A candidate who has completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent test with the minimum of 50% marks and has cleared or appearing in final year exam of 4 years duration Bachelor of Elementary Education. OR
- A candidate who has completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam with 50% marks and cleared or appearing in final year exam of B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed or B.A/B.Sc.Ed. OR
- A candidate who has a Graduation degree with 50% marks and has cleared or appearing in B.Ed program of 1-year duration.
